La. Dept. of Veterans Affairs hosting 2-day forum on military women | Community Spirit

Louisiana's Department of Veterans Affairs is hosting "Louisiana Women in Military," a two-day forum celebrating Louisiana's women veterans and military personnel. Admission to the forum is free.
The first night's event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22-23, at DiamondJack's Casino and Resort in Bossier City. There will be a wine and cheese reception precedes a speech by Key Note speaker Sandy Franks, USAF SMSgt, retired.
Saturday's event begins with an 8 a.m. registration and breakfast and an opening ceremony at 9 a.m. There will be sessions on PTSD/MST/Mental Health; VA benefits overview; Financial Health 101 Move Program, and Self-Defense Demonstrations.
Saturday's luncheon will feature key note speaker Brig. Gen. Joanne Sheridan, Asst. Adjutant General, U.S. Army. There also will be a tour of Overton Brooks VA Medical Center as well as door prizes throughout the day.
