Olde Oaks Golf Club in Haughton to host 'Rally for the Cure'

Olde Oaks is hosting a “Rally for the Cure” golf event and walk to raise money for the for the Susan G. Komen Mission.

The event is on April 14 and starts with the golf event at 1 p.m. followed by a walk at 4 p.m.

Secretary of State Tom Schedler is encouraging all Louisianians eligible to vote in the April 6 primary election to consider voting early starting this Saturday. Early voting begins Saturday, March 23rd and continues through Saturday, March 30. The polls will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, excluding Good Friday (March 29) and Easter Sunday (March 31).

Baton Rouge firm donates trees to Louisiana parishes

Resource Environmental Solutions is donating 1,000 trees to various parishes throughout central and northern Louisiana, announced CEO Elliott Bouillion.

RES, founded in Baton Rouge, is a national ecological restoration company, with operations in Louisiana, Texas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio.

The donated live oak and cypress trees were grown and potted at RES’ 640-acre native grass and tree nursery near Pointe Aux Chenes in Terrebonne Parish. The trees will be planted throughout Louisiana parishes, with site selection assistance provided by local legislators.
